ACTIVITIES REPORT
Partners' Institution:
C.I.P.A.T.
Project's period (from/to):
10 January 2010 - 31 October 2011
WPs concerned:
WP 1 - Identification of target groups

Objectives of activities carried out:
Identification and selection of teachers of languages interested in partecipating in the project

Description of activities carried out:
CIPAT wrote letters to present the project to the member schools of its consortium, followed by personal contacts by emails, phone calls and meetings.
On 23 February 2010 a first meeting with potential trainees was held, mainly meant to ascertain a) the teachers’ level of knowledge and competence in teaching methods and ICT tools, b) how willing they were to follow the courses and develop materials at the scheduled times.
The forms prepared by Pixel were sent to schools and participants.
After these initial activities, the following months we continued to contact potential trainees. A great help was given by the teachers who had started the training course and were really satisfied with it.

Outcomes:
CIPAT provided background information on the project as well as on the contents and structure of the portal
By April 2010 eight school had joined the project and sent participation letters and filled in the school presentation forms.Twenty-three teachers from the above schools had entered the project.
Since then seven more schools have joined the project with 32 teachers altogether.
Four teachers left the project at an early stage, eight of them only followed the training course, while the other twenty developed the materials for the online course.

Evaluation of the work undertaken:
Though there has been a high interest in the project the schedule of the activities expected to be carried out just at the end of the school year discouraged many teachers and head teachers. We have been going on looking for participants and we are confident to reach the target of 30 trainees.
The above comment was written in April 2010 and the results obtained afterwards prove that the real problem was actually related to the schedule of activities.
